Inspect and Adapt, Plus a Contest!

Inspect, Learn, and Adapt

It's easy to say "it's good enough." Take my garden, for example. It produces enough ugly tomatoes that I can can a few. I have kale coming out of my ears. I don't even like kale, but I keep trying to like it because, well, it's good for you, right? I sneak it into soup, even in the middle of a hot summer, introducing new dishes to my family sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Then there’s the cucumbers with a vine-destroying disease, I still managed to make some pickles, and we ate a few raw. Am I happy? Well, it's good enough.

In our work, sometimes "good enough" has to be OK, too. There are times when customers or Product Owners just want something tangible to start with, and "good enough" is an acceptable milestone. In Agile, this is where the power of inspecting and adapting comes in. Just like my garden, it’s a continuous learning process—understanding what works, what doesn’t, and how we can improve over time. Want more features? We can add them later.

Need a better UI? We can tweak it after some feedback.  The key is to never stop learning and improving. Even when things feel "good enough," there’s always room to inspect, adapt, and grow. So while "good enough" might work for now, the real magic comes from continuing to learn and evolve.

Do you have a good story where, after something was delivered, some great new ideas were generated? Please send an email to tell me your story! I'd love to hear it.

Private Contest, Insider Discount, and Other NEWS

I don’t know about you, but I am a “deal” shopper. If it’s not on sale, it’s a no for me. So, I must share two opportunities to save...

Private Contest (with great odds to win!)

You’ve heard me talk about The Agile Network (TAN), an amazing new resource for people striving to be better at Agile. As an Expert, I’ve got two free annual memberships to give away, and I don’t know how to ‘give’ them. So, I decided to have a contest. Respond to this blog post by 9/28924 with the words “The Agile Network,” Your name will go in a drawing and two of you will get free memberships good for one year. That is a $300 prize! The contest is open for 10 days because as much as I want to believe that you can’t wait to read my blog posts, the reality is not everyone reads it the day it lands in their inbox. 😂

News: In-Person Classes Just Added!

They are so hard to find, so I want to share that we are going to Madison, WI, at the end of January 2025 for a CSM® and an ACSM.® It’s a small city that is easy to navigate if you consider traveling there. To learn more about this click on the appropriate course here:  CSM® or ACSM®. I would love to have you there! If we see that you are valuing the in-person courses, we'd love to add more.

Short and sweet! That’s a wrap!

As always, let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
